Authorized Teacher of Neelakantha Meditation
As Taught in Blue Throat Yoga

For more than 13 years now, I have been practicing Neelakantha Meditation and studying the teachings of the Nondual Tantric Shaivism of Kashmir with my teacher, Paul Muller-Ortega. I was initiated as an Acharya in 2016, after three years of studying to become a teacher. For a number of years, I assisted with teaching Blue Throat Yoga’s Abiding in the Khecari Mudra course, and I now serve as a curriculum advisor for Blue Throat Yoga’s 4-year sequence of foundational study. In the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to be able to spend about six to seven weeks a year on retreat, which has helped me to be well-grounded in my own practice.

Teaching has been a natural and exciting next step for me as a dedicated practitioner. The practice of Neelakantha Meditation has greatly benefited my own life, and I know that as more people learn the practice, it’s going to benefit them and the world in a positive way. It is my greatest offering, and it is an honor to teach.

I live in Santa Rosa, California, about an hour north of San Francisco, and teach both in person and online.

My Teacher

Paul Muller-Ortega

I learned Neelakantha Meditation from my teacher Paul Muller-Ortega, who has not only been meditating for close to 50 years himself, but is also one of the world’s foremost scholars in Kashmir Shaivism.

Paul’s teaching is informed by decades of close study of original source texts regarding yoga, meditation, consciousness, and the nature of this world, and direct study with several of the greatest meditation masters of our time. After 25 years as a professor of religion, he left his tenured position to devote himself fully to teaching the practice of Neelakantha Meditation and translating key source texts, many of which have not previously been available in English.

You can hear some short audio and video excerpts of Paul speaking on the Blue Throat Yoga website.
