All Day Parking Garage
While it may be possible to find street parking near the event, if you do not happen to find it when you are looking, or if you just prefer the convenience of having an all-day, paid parking lot, the Unitarian Universalist Center recommends the Japantown Main Garage, which is a 10-minute walk from our event location. Rates vary by time of day, for a maximum of $23 for a full day. This garage is reliable and has the added benefit of having restaurant options that may be of interest near your car.
Friday, December 1
Due to weekday and street cleaning parking restrictions for our initiation day on Friday, December 1, street parking will a little more complicated than it will be on Saturday, so please plan ahead and leave plenty of time to park and arrive without stress if possible!
Scheduling Considerations on Friday
Please note that, on Friday, you may have some downtime/waiting around time during the day, and it is possible that you may be finished with your day earlier or later than 5:30 p.m. Please understand that some flexibility may be necessary as we arrange for 30+ people to have individual initiation and instruction on this day. You may wish to bring some peaceful/reflective reading material or a journal to make use of this time. It is best to not have any other significant, time-sensitive plans on this day. If you have concerns with scheduling, please let us know ahead of time!
In the morning on Friday we will have an initial group gathering from 10 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. It is very important for you to be present at this orientation to the 2-day event. For the afternoon, each participant will be assigned to a group, and each group will have different meeting times which will be announced. There will be at least a 30 minute break after the morning session, so if needed, you should be able to move your car then.
Street Parking Near the Event
We did a quick walking survey of street parking around the UU Center to aid you if you wish to find street parking nearby. PLEASE be aware of actual signage on the street where you park. Parking restrictions in the area vary widely block by block in this area, and while we’ve attempted to capture these rules and restrictions here, it is possible there could be errors or nuances not captured, and you should always rely on actual signage where you park for rules and restrictions.
